Job description

Summary: This position is a developmental position toward becoming a Store Manager. The position is based in Perrysburg/north of Bowling Green Ohio and may require regular rotation to surrounding sites. After being initially trained, the successful candidate will fill shifts, do daily management reporting, and some degree of employee training. Over the course of several months, the candidate would be well-versed in operations and training. This position is also eligible for a Bonus (AM level). This role ensures that the store operates efficiently and in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and Company policies; properly manages employees and works closely with the Store Manager to ensure the store maximizes sales and profits while maintaining asset controls.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provides customer service leadership and direction for the entire store and team of employees working in the same location.
  2. Ensures that employees follow all Company policies.
  3. Promotes and maintains a clean and organized store appearance inside and out.
  4. Fosters an environment focused on customer service and satisfaction.
  5. Promotes staff retention by working to develop leaders, empower employees, and encourage increased employee productivity.
  6. Responds quickly to all emergencies for the safety and security of customers and employees and notifies the appropriate individuals.
  7. Ensures all merchandising and marketing programs are executed properly, which includes maintaining plan-o-gram integrity and appropriate sign placement.
  8. Ensures the store maximizes sales and educates staff on selling initiatives.
  9. Monitors store activities to ensure that transactions are taking place in the proper manner.
  10. Ensures foodservice products are fresh and appealing by rotating products appropriately and removing out-of-date products.
  11. Ensures that all necessary store reports and paperwork, including performance appraisals, are completed in a timely fashion.

Experience Requirements:

  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  3. Completion of the Assistant Store Manager Training program and other relevant Company-required training programs and certifications.
  4. Good understanding of Company systems and technology.
  5. Excellent communication skills and the ability to research and resolve issues.
  6. Knowledge of retail business management practices.
  7. Knowledge of all types of store transactions and related programs.
  8. Knowledge of ways to handle customer and employee injuries, incidents, and accidents.

Physical Job Demands:

  1. Ability to occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds.
  2. Ability to frequently lift objects up to 10 pounds.
  3. Ability to rarely perform repeated climbing and fine hand manipulations.
  4. Ability to occasionally perform repeated squatting/kneeling/stooping, twisting, and pushing/pulling.
  5. Ability to frequently perform repeated bending and reaching.
  6. Ability to continuously perform repeated simple hand grasping.
  7. Ability to work in intermittent temperatures for short periods of time, e.g., outside at the pumps and in the cooler.
  8. Ability to stand for an entire shift if/as required.

Additional Requirements:

  1. Available to work a variety of shifts and/or days of the week consistent with the demands of the retail environment, which includes weekends, evenings, and other high activity periods.
  2. Has necessary means to conduct area pricing surveys.
