Under general guidance, the Store Manager is responsible for the successful leadership of store operations including building a successful team, developing customer loyalty, driving results, and achieving store goals. The Store Manager leads and motivates the sales team, manages daily operations, maintains promotional materials, and hires/trains staff. This role supervises Assistant Store Leaders, Senior Guest Advisors, Guest Advisors, and Seasonal Associates. The Store Manager acts in accordance with GameStop’s policies, practices, and core values. The ideal candidate must focus on customer satisfaction, meet sales goals, and demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Motivate the sales team to meet sales objectives and loss prevention goals through training and mentoring.
  2. Hire, train, oversee, and develop new store staff.
  3. Coach and counsel associates; monitor results; develop staff focusing on performance improvement.
  4. Lead associates to drive a selling sales culture that maximizes profitability.
  5. Lead by example, delivering excellent service to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  6. Resolve customer concerns and complaints promptly; personally respond to escalated issues.
  7. Ensure visual and operational standards are maintained according to company policies.
  8. Protect company assets via inventory control and loss prevention practices.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  1. Must be at least 18 years old [i].
  2. High school diploma required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  3. At least 3 years of retail sales experience and 1 year in a supervisory or managerial role.
MINIMUM JOB SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  1. Ability to lead in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  2. Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  3. Ability to work rotating schedules, including nights and weekends.
  4. Ability to follow instructions in various formats.
  5. Effective communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
  6. Ability to work up to 44 hours per week.
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
  1. Must be able to work alone, move around the store, and stand for extended periods (8+ hours).
  2. Regularly lift/move up to 35 pounds.
  3. Use hands and fingers, reach, stretch, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, and climb ladders.
  4. Occasional travel by car.
  5. Visual abilities include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
