About the Role
As a Store Manager, you’ll be responsible for the total holistic omni customer experience in your store, ensuring high visual and commercial curation & standards according to the store format location and global & regional strategies. You have the responsibility of leading the full store team to excel. You create an inclusive culture that promotes collaboration and entrepreneurial spirit and are responsible & aware of the store’s strengths, opportunities, and competitors. You’ll also analyze and follow up on sales, creating plans to optimize results and profits.
A Day in the Life
Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities:
- Responsible for the total OMNI customer experience in your store, ensuring visual and commercial curation according to your store format environment, global guidelines, and regional strategies.
- Represent yourself and the H&M brand positively during all customer interactions.
- Establish, analyze, and follow up on sales & budget goals, and create plans to optimize results.
- Ensure personal customer service is provided in all areas of the store, guiding customers through fashion stories and actively selling products.
- Promote our Customer Loyalty App (Hello Member) & in-store sustainability initiatives.
- Schedule to budgeted hours plan in line with sales budget and commercial activities.
- Ensure routines in fitting rooms and checkout are correctly followed, including transactions, returns, and exchanges.
- Identify store strengths and opportunities, maintaining competitor awareness & knowledge.
- Manage store maintenance cost-effectively.
- Handle all admin routines for people and operations correctly.
Fashion & Trend Awareness
- Stay updated with fashion trends, styles, brands, competitors, and influencers.
- Ensure your team provides product and fashion knowledge during customer interactions.
- Understand the local area, customers, competition, and fashion trends.
Team & Development
- Manage talent and performance, including recruiting, onboarding, upskilling, and developing your team.
- Conduct performance evaluations and succession planning.
- Share knowledge and skills with your team.
- Collaborate with area and store leadership teams.
- Maintain excellent communication and professionalism.
- Plan and schedule team activities.
- Communicate regularly with store colleagues to inform, motivate, and inspire.
- Follow all procedures, routines, security, and legal requirements.
- Participate in onboarding, training, and development courses.
Retail Operations/Visual & Commercial Execution
- Keep the sales floor and back of house clean and tidy.
- Maintain high-quality visual and product presentation standards.
- Ensure stock levels are appropriate and provide input on allocation.
- Support daily opening and closing routines.
- Manage the full garment cycle from delivery to presentation.
- Maintain in-store OMNI services & tech tools according to standards.
- Ensure consistent price signage following guidelines.
- Maintain key information, health & safety, and tidiness in BOH areas.
Qualifications

- Strong leadership skills with a responsibility-driven approach.
- Effective in team coaching & development, ambitious, and a good communicator.
- Experience in a leadership role applicable to this position.
- Retail management and operations experience.
- Ability to collaborate closely with teams.

Additional Information
Compensation: expected base salary range is $68,343.74 - $79,620.46 annually.
