Responsibilities

Sprouts Store Managers oversee, manage, and maximize the entire business operations of an assigned store and its departments, including Produce, Bakery, Deli, Meat, Dairy, Frozen Foods, Vitamins, Beer/Wine, Bulk Foods, and others.

The Store Manager is responsible for the store's efficient and profitable operations, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and well-stocked inventory. They are accountable for profits and losses, hiring and termination, disciplinary actions, team training and development, inventory management, sales promotion, and merchandising. Additional duties include managing staff issues, department managers, customer complaints, community relations, compliance with store policies, and other administrative tasks.

Qualifications

To qualify as a Store Manager at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

  • Have 1-3 years of retail management experience.
  • Be dependable, reliable, and able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Possess strong communication skills and the ability to give directions and participate in a team environment.
  • Demonstrate outgoing and friendly behavior, a positive attitude, and the ability to engage with customers.
  • Manage department staff, including interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and terminating.
  • Show proven leadership skills to motivate and maintain staff, with knowledge of personnel and sales reports and financial goals.
  • Handle emergencies and problems during the day, including writing reports for incidents, following company procedures.
  • Have a focus on detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to coordinate sales promotions and supervise merchandise displays and advertising.
  • Prioritize food safety and sanitation, ensuring all food is fresh and expired items are removed.
  • Maintain Food Safety certification and ensure compliance with all regulations and standards for safety, health, and sanitation.
  • Possess strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Be physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs., and able to bend, reach, kneel, squat, and stand for long periods.
