Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead daily store operations in the United States, overseeing staffing, training, inventory control and customer service excellence.

You will recruit and develop team members, ensure policy compliance, manage schedules, cash handling and safety procedures, and drive sales while maintaining a clean, welcoming shopping environment. This role requires strong leadership and store operation know-how.

Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to federal and state laws and company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide training for employees; conduct performance evaluations; identify gaps for solutions or counseling.
• Make recommendations regarding pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and events to ensure safety and policies.
• Open and close the store as needed; manage daily opening/closing routines.
• Evaluate operating statements to identify trends, profitability, and expenses.
• Manage stock levels and ordering to meet in-stock targets; review planning and cycle counts.
• Facilitate efficient staging, stocking and storage of merchandise according to company processes.
• Ensure merchandise presentation and pricing aligns with standards; maintain signage.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and security; control damages and shrink."
• Ensure cashier accountability and cash control procedures.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized store environment.
• Ensure required tools and resources are available to perform tasks.
• Follow SOPs and company policies; complete paperwork on deadlines.
