Position Summary

The Manager in Training (MIT) is responsible for the overall store performance, including financial and operational aspects. This involves establishing and maintaining guest services, overseeing store operations, and ensuring maximum sales and profitability through expense control, human resource management, and managing operating costs and shrinkage.

Key Responsibilities

People Management

• Set expectations and communicate regularly with employees regarding responsibilities, goals, and customer service standards.
• Ensure policy compliance through meetings and audits.
• Recruit, interview, and hire new staff in partnership with HR.
• Conduct performance evaluations periodically.

Financial Management

• Analyze business trends and develop plans to maximize sales and meet profit targets.
• Review invoices and reports to identify growth opportunities.
• Maintain controls over assets and follow cash handling procedures.

Facilities Maintenance

• Ensure cleanliness and merchandising standards.
• Conduct equipment inspections and coordinate maintenance.
• Manage parts returns and credits.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of management or equivalent experience in the automotive industry.
• Experience in coaching and team development.
• Proven ability to meet sales and profit goals.
• Previous automotive technician experience preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a State Inspector License within 30 days.
• Availability to work at least five days including weekends.

Physical and Working Conditions

The role involves exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and varying temperatures. Physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and good vision and communication skills.
