Store Manager In Training (SMIT) Program

The SMIT role is designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position through a 16-week, self-paced, collaborative training program that includes virtual and hands-on learning experiences. Supportive leadership from your District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach will guide your development.

Key Skills Needed
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to support and lead your team.
  • Customer care skills to provide high levels of service.
  • Ability to execute merchandising strategies to support store sales growth.
  • Management of store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.
Expectations for SMITs
  • Engage actively with your leader during Key Learning Experiences to support your promotion pathway.
  • Support store operations as a management team member, aligning with CVS values and policies.
  • Inspire colleagues to support the company's purpose of helping people on their path to better health.
  • Be open to accepting promotion roles within your market.

Note: Selection for the SMIT position does not guarantee promotion to Store Manager; promotion depends on performance and available openings.

Qualifications
  • Willingness to accept a Store Manager role at any location within the market.
  • Ability to transfer to other CVS stores within the market.
  • Flexible schedule to meet business needs.
  • High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Relevant work experience or retail management experience is considered in lieu of a college degree.
Additional Details

Anticipated Weekly Hours: 45

Time Type: Full time

Pay Range: $18.50 - $23.88 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location.
