Job summary

O'Reilly Auto Parts in Virginia is searching for an Assistant Manager. You will assist the store manager in supervising operations, training new team members, and managing the store's retail and professional functions.

Compensation

Compensation Pay Range $12.77 - $18.40. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation includes annual, quarterly performance, or premiums may be paid in amounts ranging per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Overview

Assist store manager in areas of sales, appearance, and overall operations of store. Objective is to receive hands on training preparing manager in training for a management position in another store or future location. Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.

Essential Job Functions

• Supervise the professional and retail operations of store and team members involved.
• Coordinate professional and retail staff: All delivery and installer service specialists; All parts and merchandising specialists.
• Supervise work performed by all team members assigned to store/HUB store. Work with district manager and store manager in recruiting, testing, hiring, evaluating, promoting, disciplining and discharging team members under supervision.
• Communicate information contained in Team Weekly and monthly store managers’ meetings to all team members.
• Train new team members; handle performance evaluations and recommend pay increases.
• Assist in hiring by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and participating in interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management to ensure qualified hires.
• Support store manager by working with assistant management team ensuring safety compliance and that all team members receive appropriate training; monitor safety expectations.
• Make sales calls with/without store manager; may be assigned a schedule for weekly customer calls.
• Support store manager in area of store operations as assigned.
• Responsible for maintenance of delivery fleet and records for each vehicle; ensure staff keeps store neat, clean and organized. Manage electronic scheduling, clocking, and payroll; learn to utilize scheduling/timekeeping system and payroll entry functions.
• Learn to manage components of gross profit; monitor returns for core and warranty abuse; review price matches and overrides for proper use; review productivity and KPI dashboard; review monthly P&L with store manager and discuss opportunities.
