The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) job is a development-focused role designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position. The SMIT program aims to enhance your career as a future store leader through a self-paced, collaborative training over 16 weeks. We offer both virtual and hands-on learning experiences to develop your leadership skills. Your support team includes your District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach.

Key skills for this role include:

  1. Effective verbal and written communication to support and lead your team.
  2. Customer care duties to ensure high service levels.
  3. Executing merchandising strategies to support store sales growth.
  4. Managing store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.

We are committed to your growth and expect our SMITs to:

  1. Actively engage with your leader during Key Learning Experiences to support your promotion path.
  2. Support your store as a management team member, aligning with CVS values and policies.
  3. Engage colleagues to support the company's purpose of "helping people on their path to better health."
  4. Be willing to accept promotion roles within the market.
  5. Transfer to other CVS stores within the market as needed.
  6. Work a schedule that varies based on business needs.

Minimum requirements include:

  1. High School diploma or GED (required).
  2. Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
  3. Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor.

Note: Selection for the SMIT role does not guarantee promotion to Store Manager. Promotion depends on performance and available openings. Willingness to accept a Store Manager role at any location within the market and the ability to transfer are required.
