Store Manager In Training (SMIT) Program

The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) role is designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position through a structured, 16-week development program. This program includes virtual and hands-on training to develop your leadership skills, supported by a team of mentors including your District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach.

Key skills for this role include:

1. Effective verbal and written communication to lead your team.
2. Customer service to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
3. Merchandising execution to support sales growth.
4. Inventory and asset management to maintain store profitability.

SMITs are expected to:

1. Engage actively with leaders during the program to support their promotion pathway.
2. Support the store as a management team member, aligning with CVS values and policies.
3. Engage colleagues to promote the company's purpose of helping people on their path to better health.
4. Be willing to accept promotion roles within the market and transfer to other CVS stores as needed.
5. Work flexible schedules based on business needs.

Minimum qualifications include:

1. High School diploma or GED (required).
2. Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
3. Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor.

Note: Selection for the SMIT position does not guarantee promotion to Store Manager; promotion depends on performance and available openings.
