Store Manager In Training (SMIT) Program

The SMIT program is a development-focused role designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position. Over 16 weeks, you'll participate in a self-paced, collaborative training program that includes virtual and hands-on learning experiences. Our team supporting your growth includes your District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and your Store Manager coach.

Skills Needed
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to support and lead your team.
  • Customer care duties to provide high levels of service.
  • Execution of merchandising strategies to support store sales growth.
  • Management of store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.
Expectations for SMITs
  • Actively engage with your leader during Key Learning Experiences to support your path to promotion.
  • Support your store as a management team member and lead in alignment with CVS values and policies.
  • Engage colleagues in supporting the company's purpose of "helping people on their path to better health."
  • Willingness to accept promotion roles within the market.
Promotion Considerations

Selection for the SMIT position does not guarantee promotion to Store Manager. Promotion depends on performance, availability of openings, and other factors.

Minimum Requirements
  • Willingness to accept a Store Manager role at any location within the designated market.
  • Ability to transfer within the CVS Pharmacy stores in the market.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, or relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor.
Position Details

Anticipated Weekly Hours: 45
Time Type: Full time
Pay Range: $18.50 - $23.88 per hour
