The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) job is a development-focused role designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position. The program lasts 16 weeks and includes virtual and hands-on training to develop leadership skills. Supportive team members include your District Leader, HR Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach.

Key skills required include:

  1. Effective verbal and written communication
  2. Customer care duties
  3. Merchandising strategies
  4. Store inventory and asset management

SMITs are expected to:

  1. Engage actively with leadership during the program
  2. Support store operations and lead in line with CVS values
  3. Support the company's purpose of helping people on their path to better health
  4. Willingness to accept promotion roles within the market

Promotion to Store Manager is not guaranteed and depends on performance and openings. Candidates must be willing to transfer within the market and work flexible schedules. Minimum requirements include:

  • High School diploma or GED (required)
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
  • Retail management or CVS supervisory experience
