Job summary

Worthwhile is a nonprofit thrift organization seeking a Store Manager to oversee operations, growth, and the store team including staff, volunteers, and participants. You will recruit and train staff, schedule coverage, manage payroll and expenses, and drive sales and community engagement while upholding Worthwhile's mission.

The role demands strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to work a flexible, 40-hour week, including weekends.

Qualifications

• Previous retail management or related leadership experience.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building abilities.
• Excellent organizational, administrative, and time management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Word and Excel, Shopify, Square POS Systems, Workforce scheduling and payroll systems.
• Commitment to Worthwhile's mission and core values.
• Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, including Saturdays and holidays.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Willingness to travel to support other store locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall operations, growth, and success of the thrift store.
• Supervise, train, coach, and develop staff, participants, and volunteers.
• Create and manage employee and volunteer schedules.
• Oversee staffing needs, recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.
• Foster a positive, mission-driven team culture.
• Ensure excellent customer service while promoting Worthwhile's mission.
• Assist with daily store operations including sales, donations, stocking, and cashier functions.
• Achieve sales goals and manage store expenses and payroll budgets.
• Complete payroll reporting and administrative responsibilities.
• Implement marketing initiatives, sales events, and community engagement.
