If you're looking for that next step in your career, make it famous! To us, famous isn’t about standing out in the crowd. It’s about feeling good where you stand right now. Famous Footwear is your place for athletic, fashion and casual shoes for the whole family from hundreds of name brands.

As a full-time Store Manager, you are passionate about serving your community by providing the best shoe store experience for the whole family. You do this by challenging yourself and leading your store team to meet and exceed Talent, Culture, and Operational responsibilities of your role. You are a people leader, taking pride in your leadership and ability to motivate a team to achieve sales targets and growth goals. Through personal demonstration, training, and development, you create an in-store culture where customers say, “I’ll take it” and are loyal to your store, our brands, and our company. You are enthusiastic about the product and presentation of your store, staying up to date on trends, and educate your team to do the same. Most importantly, you LOVE shoes, and regardless of your style, you help every person who enters your store experience a little bit of that Famous Feeling.

What You’ll be Doing
  • Inspire The Customer Connection: You’ll inspire the team with integrity and drive, fostering a culture centered on customer relationships, operational excellence, and flawless delivery of both. You’ll dedicate time to develop internal talent by assessing associates’ strengths and opportunities, motivating new levels of greatness by modeling the selling behaviors and infusing coaching moments to power our Customer Connection.
  • Lead Talent Discovery: You’ll be enthusiastic and proactive about seeking out and networking with exceptional external talent, knowing that each hire has the potential to elevate the store’s sales growth. No empire is built overnight, so you’ll invest time, effort, and resources in developing strong succession plans for leadership roles within the store. When interviewing, you’ll hire individuals passionate about creating top-notch customer experiences driven by attentiveness to service and determination to sell.
  • Own Retail Operations: You’re an expert in day-to-day store operations (from pricing to shipment processing to inventory and everything in between) and put in the work so the store runs like a tightly laced sneaker. As a framework for success, you’ll leverage our store standards, keeping all our famous styles easily shoppable. As the strategic mind behind staffing decisions, you balance associate availability, peak times, and seasonal demands to keep our team equipped to deliver exceptional service.
  • Leverage Insights to Deliver Results: You’ll bring your best self to each day and take ownership of your goals and their impact on Famous’s overall performance. Drive sales with purpose and determination, utilizing insights from business analysis and observations to refine strategies and enhance results. Recognize the significance of every shoe sale and use your understanding of available resources and key partnerships to seamlessly align operational efforts for success.
  • Be the Architect of a Winning Culture: You’ll create a work and team environment where diversity and inclusivity are valued as our team superpower, ensuring each associate feels included and respected. You’ll maintain a positive and proactive mindset, particularly when facing challenges, setting a winning example for others to follow. To increase retention and improve Associate effort and performance, you’ll promote team engagement in fresh and exciting ways.
