As a full-time Store Manager, you are passionate about serving your community by providing the best shoe store experience for the whole family. You do this by challenging yourself and leading your store team to meet and exceed Talent, Culture, and Operational responsibilities of your role. You are a people leader, taking pride in your leadership and ability to motivate a team to achieve sales targets and growth goals. Through personal demonstration, training, and development, you create an in-store culture where customers say, “I’ll take it” and are loyal to your store, our brands, and our company. You are enthusiastic about the product and presentation of your store, staying up to date on trends, and educate your team to do the same. Most importantly, you LOVE shoes, and regardless of your style, you help every person who enters your store experience a little bit of that Famous Feeling.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Inspire The Customer Connection: You’ll inspire the team with integrity and drive, fostering a culture centered on customer relationships, operational excellence, and flawless delivery of both. You’ll dedicate time to develop internal talent by assessing associates’ strengths and opportunities, motivating new levels of greatness by modeling the selling behaviors and infusing coaching moments to power our Customer Connection.
- Lead Talent Discovery: You’ll be enthusiastic and proactive about seeking out and networking with exceptional external talent, knowing that each hire has the potential to elevate the store’s sales growth. You’ll invest time, effort, and resources in developing strong succession plans for leadership roles within the store. When interviewing, you’ll hire individuals passionate about creating top-notch customer experiences driven by attentiveness to service and determination to sell.
- Own Retail Operations: You’re an expert in day-to-day store operations (from pricing to shipment processing to inventory and everything in between) and put in the work so the store runs efficiently. You’ll leverage our store standards to keep styles easily shoppable. As the strategic mind behind staffing decisions, you’ll balance associate availability, peak times, and seasonal demands to ensure exceptional service.
- Leverage Insights to Deliver Results: You’ll bring your best self to each day and take ownership of your goals and their impact on Famous’s overall performance. Drive sales with purpose and determination, utilizing insights from business analysis and observations to refine strategies and enhance results. Recognize the significance of every shoe sale and align operational efforts for success.

Preferred Qualifications & Education
- High School Diploma/GED.
- 1-5 years of retail store management experience, preferably in specialty retail.
- Ability to build constructive relationships within store teams.
- Goal-oriented with effective organization skills.
- Strong leadership, motivation, and communication abilities.
- Experience in training, coaching, and developing staff.
- Independent judgment and discretion, with partnership with Territory Sales Manager.
- Cognitive skills including problem analysis, decision making, and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in general retail practices and procedures.
- Flexible schedule including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
- Basic computer skills.
Physical Requirements and Environment
- Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs. safely.
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, climb, push, and pull for extended periods.
