Job Description

In this role you will utilize your comprehensive store leadership and operational expertise to meet/exceed financial objectives, including sales, payroll and shrink goals. Our Store Managers are not only driven to provide an engaged customer experience but are passionate about the engaged experience of our associates managing the full associate lifecycle, from talent attraction and outreach to continuous training, development, and reengagement.

There is the opportunity to expand your earnings with uncapped commissions. Final compensation can vary based on guaranteed base earnings and opportunity for commission-based earnings in each pay period.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Meet Financial, Operational, Merchandising Goals: Achieve sales, payroll, and shrink goals for designated location. Achieve operational and merchandising initiatives, as well as compliance requirements.
  • Uphold Brand Standards: Assure a consistent in-store experience in alignment with the AE brand and exceeds the customer's expectations for service, knowledge and quality of experience. Assure effective implementation and execution of company plans and strategies in assigned store.
  • Hire, Inspire & Retain Team Members: Assure the attraction, selection, development and retention of high caliber associates of diverse cultures, backgrounds, and experiences. Lead annual and midyear performance reviews.

  • Essential Functions: Other responsibilities may be performed as needed to ensure the needs of the business are met.
  • Commissioned Sales Earnings: There is an opportunity to expand your earnings with uncapped commissions. Final compensation can vary based on guaranteed hourly earnings and opportunity for commission-based earnings in a given pay period.

Preferred Qualifications & Education
  • 2-3 years of experience of retail management in a comparable brand environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, regulations, and other legal documents.
  • Ability to effectively present information to retail store associates and to customers.
  • Ability to take external partnership with national and regional leadership, as well as peers and business support personnel, such as Human Resources, Store & Facilities management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Self-starter who can prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced, team environment; and is customer service focused.
  • Proficient in general computer, Microsoft Office, and ability to learn and retain details around new, unfamiliar proprietary systems.
  • Able to perform register functions and expert cash handling.
Physical Requirements and/or Environment
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs. from floor level to above shoulder height utilizing appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
  • Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
  • Ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods of time.
