Overall Job Summary

The Manager Trainee is responsible for learning the duties of the Store Manager position and developing the skills required for a Store Manager role. Primary duties include delivering a Legendary Customer Experience, building the team, driving sales, managing inventory, managing profit and sales, expense control, reducing and managing shrink.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)

As a Manager Trainee, you will observe and learn the following duties and skills required for a Store Manager role:

1. Recruiting, hiring, developing, evaluating, disciplining, and retaining efficient team members.
2. Delivering Legendary Customer Service through GURA: Greet the Customer, Uncover Needs & Wants, Recommend Solutions, Add Value & Appreciate.
3. Creating a welcoming environment and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the store and community.
4. Scheduling and organizing daily activities for team efficiency.
5. Leading team members to ensure a Legendary shopping experience.
6. Communicating policies and evaluating processes for effectiveness.
7. Learning to create a positive work environment via promotions, recognition, and empowerment.
8. Resolving conflicts and problems for team members and customers.
9. Understanding sales, profit management, and achieving financial goals.
10. Promoting safety and managing inventory flow and merchandise resets.
11. Handling paperwork such as invoices, schedules, product orders, and reports.
12. Managing inventory needs and coordinating with supply chain teams.
13. Participating in special projects and community involvement.
14. Developing team members for advancement and addressing team issues.
15. Training in budgeting, sales forecasting, and store audits.

Required Qualifications

Experience in retail or related fields preferred; supervisory experience is a plus. Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license. Education: High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural-Science or Business preferred.

Preferred Skills and Abilities

• Valid driver’s license for company driving.
• Proficiency with POS systems and documentation.
• Ability to operate store equipment and move merchandise up to 50 lbs.
• Flexible working hours including weekends and peak seasons.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, kneel, reach, and drive.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

• Standard office conditions; physical activities include standing, walking, reaching, and lifting.
