About the Role
As a Store Manager, you’ll be responsible for the total omni customer experience in your store, ensuring high visual and commercial standards according to store format, location, and global & regional strategies. You will lead the full store team to excel, creating an inclusive culture that promotes collaboration and entrepreneurial spirit. You’ll analyze sales data, follow up on results, and create plans to optimize store performance.
A Day in the Life
Working at H&M means no two days are the same. Typical responsibilities include:
- Managing the total omni customer experience, ensuring visual and commercial standards are met
- Representing the H&M brand positively in all customer interactions
- Establishing, analyzing, and following up on sales and budget goals, creating strategies to meet targets
- Providing personal customer service and guiding customers through fashion stories
- Promoting the Customer Loyalty App and sustainability initiatives within the store
- Scheduling staff according to sales and commercial activities
- Maintaining routines in fitting rooms and at checkout, including transactions, returns, and exchanges
- Identifying commercial opportunities and maintaining competitor awareness
- Managing store maintenance cost-effectively
- Handling administrative routines for people and operations
Fashion & Trend Awareness
- Staying updated on fashion trends, styles, brands, competitors, and influencers
- Ensuring your team provides product and fashion knowledge to customers
- Understanding the local area, customer base, and fashion trends
Team & Development
- Managing talent and performance, including recruiting, onboarding, and development
- Conducting performance evaluations and succession planning
- Sharing knowledge and skills with your team
- Collaborating with the area team and store leadership
- Planning and scheduling team shifts
- Communicating regularly to motivate and inform staff
- Ensuring compliance with procedures, routines, security, and legal requirements
- Participating in onboarding, training, and development programs
Retail Operations/Visual & Commercial Execution
- Maintaining a clean and organized sales floor and back of house
- Ensuring high-quality visual and product presentation
- Managing stock levels and providing input on allocation
- Supporting daily store routines, including opening and closing
- Overseeing the garment cycle and fitting room routines
- Maintaining in-store OMNI services and technology tools
- Ensuring consistent pricing signage in line with strategies
- Keeping BOH areas organized and compliant
