General Position Summary

At Lids, our store managers are the heart and soul of the brand. They foster passion for sporting and fashion goods by meeting the needs of our customers, whether loyal or occasional. Our customers rely on our team to find products that express their individualism, team pride, and personal style. Store managers are responsible for providing an exceptional experience, guiding and inspiring retail teams, conducting product presentations, and being experts in our offerings.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Control Expenses
  • Protect company assets within guidelines of LIDS retail policies.
  • Prepare store schedules and ensure proper coverage, adhering to wage control guidelines.
  • Manage store inventory accurately, including receiving, transferring, pricing, and counting products.
  • Maintain proper documentation and record keeping in compliance with policies and laws.
  • Open and close the store following procedures outlined in the Operations Manual.
Additional Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise Associates
  • Manage store associates through training, goal setting, and follow-up.
  • Recruit, develop, and train staff to meet operational objectives and adhere to policies.
  • Administer disciplinary actions following company procedures and approval from relevant authorities.
  • Encourage compliance with all policies, including inventory and property safekeeping.
  • Perform supervisory tasks as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Required Knowledge & Skills
  • A two-year post-secondary education and one year of related experience, or equivalent combination.
  • Ability to produce sales results while minimizing loss.
  • Proven supervisory skills with capacity for training and assessment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computers and relevant software.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work with hands overhead.
  • Standing required for up to 100% of work time.
  • Willingness to travel overnight for training and meetings.
Preferred Job Required Knowledge & Skills

Store managers can earn up to twice the local minimum wage based on experience. Compensation varies with skills, experience, and location. Full-time managers are eligible for monthly sales bonuses, a 40% employee discount, and a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, health, vision, dental, and 401(k).
