Job description

The Turners Outdoorsman is seeking a Store Manager for the Inland Empire location. The Store Manager acts as the business and cultural leader of the store team, responsible for achieving sales goals, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving profitability. The role requires a retail professional who exemplifies a positive attitude and appearance, possesses excellent communication and customer service skills, and can teach and lead by example.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Manage a staff of Assistant Store Managers and nonexempt employees.
  2. Provide excellent customer service and demonstrate salesmanship.
  3. Ensure customers have a full-service, high-value shopping experience.
  4. Meet budgeted sales by setting and achieving daily, weekly, and monthly goals, managing labor costs, and minimizing shrinkage.
  5. Advertise and promote products and events effectively.
  6. Foster a team environment.
  7. Schedule employee shifts and breaks in compliance with laws.
  8. Assign work tasks to employees.
  9. Train, motivate, supervise, and develop staff.
  10. Oversee all store operations, including cash handling, merchandise levels, displays, firearms paperwork, inventory, and compliance with laws and policies.
  11. Perform additional duties as needed, including covering breaks or assisting in other departments.
QUALIFICATIONS
  1. High school diploma or GED; college experience preferred.
  2. At least 2 years of retail and sales experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
  3. Knowledge of hunting, fishing, or shooting sports is preferred.
  4. Legally eligible to work in a firearm environment.
  5. Must be 18 years or older.
  6. Certificate of Eligibility required.
  7. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Availability during blackout periods for time-off requests.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  1. Load/unload trucks; lift up to 50 pounds.
  2. Handle firearms with both hands.
  3. Proficient in computer use and software.
  4. Stand, sit, bend, and lift during shifts.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
  1. Occasional travel (~20%) for events, training, and store openings.
HOURS
  1. Minimum 45 hours per week, with varying schedules.
  2. Time-off requests subject to blackout periods.
