Job summary

Staples in Massachusetts is seeking a General Manager to lead a store, drive sales, and foster a collaborative, customer-focused culture. You will guide the team to deliver exceptional service, manage operations and build the store's community connections.

You will oversee merchandise and services, coach leaders, and focus on profitable growth while maintaining operational excellence across all store activities.

Qualifications

• 1+ year progressively responsible store management experience in retail.
• Strong store operations analytics, planning and financial acumen.
• Experience building a customer-centric consultative selling environment.
• Experience developing a team to drive YOY sales and margins.
• Ability to lift/move materials 10–50 pounds, climb ladders, stand/walk.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong leadership in community, customer service, sales and team development.
• Lead merchandise sales, print & marketing services, and retail operations.
• Drive profitable sales and margins while reducing variability YoY.
• Ensure flawless execution of operational excellence.
• Coach managers and supervisors to create a culture of consultative selling.
• Oversee overall store operations and participate in additional duties as assigned.

Essential Skills And Experience

• 1+ year progressively responsible store management experience in a retail environment as a General/Store Manager
• Store Operations experience with analysis, planning, financial acumen and driving results
• Experience creating a customer centric environment and working in a consultative selling environment that provides customers a total solution
• Experience developing a team in operational excellence to drive profitable YOY sales and margins
• Ability to lift/move materials in the 10-50 pound range, climb ladders, stand and walk continuously
