Salary Range: $20.00 Hourly

Position: Store Manager

Reports to: Owner

Result Statement: To support the Midwest Family Health team, with designated duties and responsibilities resulting in proactive approaches as well as engaged and well-trained teams thriving in a culture adherent to company mission, vision and values

Education: Two years minimum college with courses in Leadership, Management, Sales, Merchandising, Marketing and Medical terminology preferred

Experience: Leadership, supervisory, retail sales, customer service and medical terminology experience preferred

Other Requirements: Valid Driver’s License required Dependable vehicle

Responsibilities
  • Promotion of company mission, vision and values.
  • Ensure policies and procedures, including but not limited to, the Employee Handbook, Standards of Conduct and Medicare Standards, are communicated, understood and followed by employees.
  • Ensure exemplary services and values are provided to customers and patients.
  • Delegate responsibilities to employees in a manner that insures they understand their tasks, authorities, and roles. The Store Manager maintains control and holds team accountable for their actions. Even though duties may be delegated, the authority and responsibility for all functions and activities associated with store management rests with the Store Manager.
  • Ensure adequate staffing in the store to meet company needs.
  • Ensure retail area displays are clean, attractive and conducive to a professional pharmacy store operation.
  • Ensure the inventory is ordered according to company guidelines and within budgetary constraints.
  • Meet regularly with team, other managers and directors to ensure information flows both horizontally and vertically throughout the organization to ensure that goals and objectives are achieved.
  • Ensure and maintain compliance with Federal, State and local regulations, including CMS accreditation.
  • Ensure there is no discrimination regarding, sex, race, creed, age, or religion.
Duties
  • Serve as the go-to person for questions, issues, recommendations, and feedback from team and management.
  • Lead a daily huddle with team to establish and prioritize daily goals.
  • Lead a quarterly team meeting and the quarterly HME CQI meetings.
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, firing and disciplining all store/sales employees in line of supervision.
  • Create monthly staffing schedules and manage time off requests.
  • Perform periodic, 90-day and annual preview/evaluations with employees.
  • Direct actions to bring all people involved with retail and HME sales (both inside and outside the retail operation) to a fully trained status and maintained at that level.
  • Submit financial records, orders, and receipts to the Support Office in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Periodically, provide the Owner with an analysis of the competition and recommend responses, if needed, for each significant competitor.
  • Use sales and inventory metrics to manage inventory and motivate employees.
  • Develop purchasing strategies based on continually changing market demands.
  • Maintain updated pricing and review costs and retail pricing for front-end and HME inventory.
  • Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Implement strategies and communicate effectiveness of customer relation programs.
  • Conduct quality control checks and maintain the Midwest Family Health image.
  • Management of marketing budget and assistance with developing local marketing strategies.
  • Conduct public relations visits periodically including visiting physicians’ clinics, hospital staff, home health departments, and related facilities with presentations to educate them about our products and services.
  • Identify and pursue potentially profitable avenues of HME products and services.
  • Planning and engagement at periodic events such as Open Houses, Health Fairs, and Ladies Night Out.
Other
  • Future after hour on call duties (in rotation with other staff).
  • Use of personal vehicle is occasionally required – mileage to be reimbursed at federal rate.
  • Function within the limits of the law and Midwest Family Health policies and procedures and the employee manual.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned to assist in the smooth, efficient operation of the store.

Additional duties and responsibilities are as follows, with the understanding that as sales volume grows, there will be an eventual need to hire additional team members for some and/or all of the following roles. The Store Manager will remain as a backup for these positions after hiring additional team members, and will be responsible for training and management of the additional team members: Billing Specialist, Therapeutic Shoe Fitter, HME Customer Relations Specialist, Customer Relations Specialist, and Delivery Specialist.
