Job summary

Maplefields is seeking a Store Manager to lead and develop a high-performing retail team across locations in Vermont, Northern New York, and Northern New Hampshire. The role offers flexible location distribution and focuses on driving profitability, managing inventory, and delivering exceptional customer service.

The Store Manager will oversee daily operations, staff training, scheduling, and performance management while implementing merchandising standards and cost controls to maximize sales

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day store operations, including scheduling and training staff at the location.
• Recruit, hire, train and motivate team members and managers.
• Develop people for key positions such as Assistant Manager and Manager in Training.
• Manage inventory to maximize sales, control costs and reduce waste.
• Oversee cash handling and accounting procedures.
• Understand profit drivers and controllable expenses, including labor and inventory variances.
• Develop strategies to grow customer traffic and store profitability.
• Meet sales goals through coaching, mentoring and feedback.
• Ensure high customer satisfaction and service standards.
• Maintain store policies, procedures and visual merchandising standards.
• Conduct performance appraisals and plan staff development paths.
• Resolve customer complaints promptly with support from management staff.
• Ensure staffing supports a 24/7 operation and cover shifts as needed.
