Job summary

Guess?, LLC. is seeking a Store Manager in Fort Myers, FL to lead store performance with a focus on sales growth, profitability, customer satisfaction, merchandising standards, and smooth store operations.

You will oversee training and development of the staff, supervise a team, and report to the District Manager while ensuring loss prevention and policy compliance in a dynamic retail environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of store manager experience with a proven track record for driving sales and profit results and training and developing a team.
  • Proficiency in personal computer use and detailed report analysis.
  • High school education or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

  • Lead recruitment, retention, and development of store staff and managers.
  • Set annual goals, conduct performance reviews, and coach direct reports.
  • Train and develop staff on product knowledge, selling skills, and visual merchandising.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain floor leadership.
  • Execute visual merchandising standards and maintain store cleanliness.
  • Meet or exceed sales, payroll, shrink, and conversion targets.
  • Drive strategies to maximize sales and control expenses.
  • Manage payroll, loss prevention, and policy compliance.
  • Make sound decisions with integrity and adaptability.
  • Handle multiple tasks and perform additional duties as needed.

Job description

The Store Manager is accountable for sales performance, focusing on growth and profitability, customer satisfaction, merchandising standards, store operations, and the training and development of the entire staff.

Reports To: District Manager

Supervises: Co-Manager, Assistant Manager, Key Holder, and Store Associates

Essential Functions
People Development
  • Recruitment & Retention: Network, recruit, hire, develop, and retain high-quality management and associates to fill store profiles and support succession planning.
  • Performance Management: Set annual goals, administer performance reviews, and develop all direct reports.
  • Training & Development: Train, develop, and provide ongoing feedback and coaching on product knowledge, selling skills, visual merchandising, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Customer Experience
  • Customer Service: Ensure an excellent level of customer service is a priority at all times by consistently executing and achieving the Customer Experience through regular assessment, coaching, and follow-up with the team.
  • Leadership: Maintain visibility and lead by example on the selling floor to answer customer questions and support all selling functions.
  • Visual Merchandising: Implement all visual merchandising standards, directives, promotions, and maintain overall cleanliness and organization of the sales floor and stockroom.
  • Sales Goals: Meet or exceed profitability expectations for the store in sales, payroll, shrink, and conversion.
  • Strategic Execution: Create and execute strategies to maximize store sales and control expenses.
Operational Effectiveness
  • Payroll Management: Meet all payroll expectations.
  • Loss Prevention: Control company assets by meeting all loss prevention measures.
  • Policy Compliance: Execute and comply with all company policies and procedures.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Decision Making: Use sound judgment when making decisions.
  • Integrity & Respect: Act with integrity and respect.
  • Adaptability: Adapt to changes required by the business.
  • Multitasking: Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Additional Duties: Assume and complete other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum two years of store manager experience with a proven track record for driving sales and profit results and training and developing a team of individuals.
  • Proficiency in personal computer use and detailed report analysis.
  • High school education or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting in excess of 30 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for a minimum of eight hours during scheduled shifts.
