General Position Summary

At Lids, our Store Managers are the heart and soul of the Lids brand. They strive to foster passion for sporting and fashion goods by meeting customer needs while ensuring all store areas are engaged. Store Managers are responsible for store performance, team engagement, and delivering exceptional customer service with product expertise.

Principle Duties And Responsibilities
People & Training Development
  • Manage hiring strategies, including planning needs, recruitment, projected turnover, and leaves of absence.
  • Assist in onboarding new team members.
  • Create a fun, productive environment and help team members understand their impact.
  • Establish supportive relationships and adhere to brand standards.
  • Update employee records, approve time off, shift swaps, and qualifications.
  • Lead ongoing training strategies for staff development.
  • Address employee concerns and collaborate with support teams as needed.
  • Drive team engagement through recognition and performance management.
  • Collaborate across channels and districts.
Customer Experience
  • Lead sales strategies to meet KPIs and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Resolve customer issues promptly and effectively.
  • Manage staff to ensure optimal service and store operations.
  • Promote membership programs and special offers.
Operations
  • Ensure compliance with scheduling, payroll, and policies.
  • Plan and manage staff schedules.
  • Handle business disruptions and ensure operational continuity.
  • Implement company directives and initiatives.
  • Maintain store safety, technology, facilities, and supplies.
  • Manage cash handling and prepare for inventory audits.
Product & Inventory Management
  • Drive product strategy, receiving, merchandising, and exiting stock.
  • Organize backroom for efficiency.
  • Ensure product compliance with regulations.
  • Execute markdowns and manage inventory levels.
  • Implement visual merchandising strategies.
Job Required Knowledge & Skills
  • Post-secondary education and relevant experience or equivalent.
  • Ability to produce sales results and minimize loss.
  • Proven supervisory skills and training ability.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and stand for long periods.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours.
