Job summary

Staples is hiring a General Manager to lead a store in Concord, NC, driving community relationships, customer service excellence, and a strong sales and services portfolio. You will guide a collaborative, team-oriented culture and oversee operations, merchandising, and the small business customer experience.

You will coach and develop a diverse team, ensure execution of company standards, and build profitable results while maintaining work-life balance with our weekly pay and benefits package.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of progressive store management experience in a retail environment.
• Experience driving sales and customer service in a consultative selling environment.
• Experience developing a team in operational excellence to drive profitable YOY sales and margins.
• Ability to lift/move materials in the 10-50 pound range, climb ladders, stand and walk continuously.

As a General Manager, you will be collaborative and inclusive in helping our customers while leading a fun, team-oriented retail culture. You’ll make a visible impact as a retail leader and business professional in driving your stores community relationships, merchandise sales, technical services portfolio, print & marketing services, and business-to-business network. This is a Bench GM role where you will travel to multiple stores until a position comes available.

Essential skills and experience:

• 1+ year progressively responsible store management experience in a retail environment as a General/Store Manager
• Store Operations experience with analysis, planning, financial acumen and driving results
• Experience creating a customer centric environment and working in a consultative selling environment that provides customers a total solution
• Experience developing a team in operational excellence to drive profitable YOY sales and margins
• Ability to lift/move materials in the 10-50 pound range, climb ladders, stand and walk continuously

Preferred skills and experience:
