About the Role
As a Store Manager, you'll be responsible for the total holistic omni customer experience in your store, ensuring high visual and commercial standards according to the store format, location, and global & regional strategies. You will lead the full store team to excel, creating an inclusive culture that promotes collaboration and entrepreneurial spirit. You will also analyze sales, follow up on results, and create plans to optimize performance and profits.
A Day in the Life
Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day includes responsibilities such as:
- Customer Sales & Profit
- Ensure the total OMNI customer experience, visual, and commercial presentation according to guidelines
- Represent the H&M brand positively during customer interactions
- Set and follow up on sales and budget goals, creating optimization plans
- Provide personal customer service, guiding customers and actively selling products
- Promote our Customer Loyalty App and sustainability initiatives
- Plan staffing according to sales budgets and activities
- Manage routines in fitting rooms and checkout processes
- Identify commercial opportunities and maintain competitor awareness
- Oversee store maintenance cost-effectively
- Handle administrative routines for people and operations
- Fashion & Trend Awareness
- Stay updated with fashion trends, styles, brands, competitors, and influencers
- Ensure team provides product and fashion knowledge during customer interactions
- Understand the local market, customers, and fashion trends
- Team & Development
- Manage talent and performance, including recruitment, onboarding, and development
- Conduct performance evaluations and succession planning
- Share knowledge and skills with the team
- Collaborate with Area and store leadership teams
- Maintain effective communication and professionalism
- Plan and schedule team activities
- Communicate regularly to motivate and inform staff
- Ensure compliance with procedures, routines, security, and legal requirements
- Participate in onboarding, training, and development programs
- Retail Operations/Visual & Commercial Execution
- Maintain a clean, tidy sales floor and back of house
- Ensure high-quality visual and product presentation
- Manage stock levels and contribute to allocation decisions
- Support daily opening and closing routines
- Oversee the full garment cycle and fitting room routines
- Maintain store tech services and tools
- Ensure consistent pricing signage according to guidelines
- Update and maintain BOH areas with key information and safety standards
Qualifications
- Strong leadership skills and responsibility for others
- Experience in team coaching and development
- Relevant leadership experience in retail management
- Experience in retail operations and collaboration
