Hammitt is opening a flagship at Carmel Plaza in Carmel-by-the-Sea and seeks a dynamic Store Manager to lead daily operations and drive sales in a luxury environment.

You will build a high-performing team, cultivate meaningful customer relationships, and execute local marketing and activations to grow profitability and brand impact. This role requires a guest-first mindset and strategic leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of store leadership in premium/luxury fashion or lifestyle brands.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent leadership experience.
• Proven clienteling background with a loyal customer book.
• Tech-forward mindset – comfortable with POS systems, social media, and e-commerce.

The Role

We’re opening our doors at Carmel Plaza, and we need a passionate Store Manager to help us lead the way. As the ultimate leader of our retail presence, you'll oversee daily operations, drive sales performance, and cultivate an electric, inviting store culture. You will be responsible for building and mentoring a high-performing team, fostering deep customer relationships, and executing strategic local marketing and activations. What You’ll Do

• Build and cultivate a powerhouse team from the ground up, with a hands-on approach to recruiting, onboarding, and ongoing mentorship
• Drive top-line performance and store profitability by owning key KPIs, analyzing metrics, and championing creative sales strategies
• Act as the ultimate host, orchestrating stand-out store activations, VIP parties, and meaningful partnerships with local influencers and charities
• Bring the marketing calendar to life by building buzz around special edition drops, seasonal launches, and exclusive gifts with purchase
• Become a total expert and source of truth on our core signature heritage styles and fresh seasonal collections
• Curate high-impact visual merchandising displays that tell our brand story and turn heads
• Keep the floor stocked and seamlessly organized with airtight stockroom management and inventory control
• Deliver warm, unforgettable customer experiences- welcoming every guest like a friend into your home
• Lead with initiative- spotting opportunities early and tackling challenges with honesty, agility and precision
• Embrace resourcefulness- bringing creative solutions, adaptability, and composure to every situation

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of store leadership experience in premium/luxury fashion retail or lifestyle brands
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent hands‑on leadership experience
• A proven clienteling background with a track record of building and nurturing a loyal book of business
• Tech-forward mindset – you are comfortable navigating POS systems, social media, and e‑commerce platforms
• Clear, captivating communication skills, equally effective in writing, one‑on‑one, and in front of a crowd
• Active listener who connects authentically and responds empathetically to customer and team needs
• Proven talent for inspiring, energizing, and elevating teams to exceed performance targets
