Overall Job Summary

The Manager Trainee is responsible for learning the duties of the Store Manager position and developing the skills required for a Store Manager role. Primary duties include delivering a Legendary Customer Experience, building the team, driving sales, managing inventory, managing profit and sales, expense control, reducing and managing shrink.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Recruiting, hiring, developing, evaluating, disciplining, and retaining efficient team members.
  • Delivering Legendary Customer Service through GURA: Greet, Uncover Needs, Recommend Solutions, Add Value & Appreciate.
  • Creating a welcoming environment that promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Scheduling and organizing daily activities for store efficiency.
  • Leading team members to ensure a Legendary shopping experience.
  • Communicating policies, evaluating processes, and coordinating with management to improve store operations.
  • Fostering a positive work environment through recognition and empowerment.
  • Problem solving and conflict resolution.
  • Learning sales and profit management to meet financial goals.
  • Promoting safety and managing inventory flow and resets.
  • Managing paperwork, inventory, and participating in special projects and community involvement.
  • Building team member relations and supporting their development.
  • Understanding budgeting and auditing processes.
Qualifications

Experience in retail, farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding is preferred. Supervisory experience is a plus. Must be 18+, hold a valid driver’s license, and ideally have a high school diploma or higher education in relevant fields.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Valid driver’s license for company driving.
  • Proficiency with POS systems and basic documentation.
  • Ability to access all store areas and operate necessary equipment.
  • Physical ability to handle merchandise up to 50 lbs.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and peak seasons.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
  • Standard office conditions, standing, walking, kneeling, reaching, driving, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
