Job summary

Dollar General in Kentucky is seeking a Store Manager responsible for leading all store processes, staffing, training, and customer service excellence. You will open and close the store, manage inventory, assist with merchandising, and ensure financial integrity and safety compliance.

You will recruit, hire, and develop staff; communicate expectations; monitor performance; and drive sales while maintaining a clean, well‑organized shopping environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Experience with inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Ability to recruit, interview, hire and counsel staff while ensuring legal compliance.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at certain locations.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees per labor laws and policies; staff the store.
• Provide training, conduct performance evaluations, identify gaps and counsel or terminate as needed.
• Ensure proper training, safety expectations and regular meetings.
• Open and close the store at least twice weekly; oversee daily operations.
• Monitor sales, expenses and inventory; manage stock replenishment and pricing.
• Maintain cashier accountability, cash controls and secure operations.
• Ensure clean, safe environment and compliant with SOPs.
