Store Leader Trainee
Responsibilities:
The Leader-in-Training position is a non-exempt hourly role eligible for overtime. The MIT is in training to learn the functions of the Facility Leader position.
Responsibilities include learning and assisting with duties of a Facility Leader, listed below:
Human Resources Management:
- Maintain positive employee relations and morale by supervising staff and ensuring policy compliance.
- Recruit, interview, hire, and ensure proper staffing.
- Train and develop employees; supervise training sessions.
- Manage labor hours through scheduling.
- Adjust employee pay rates.
- Ensure safety, security, and EEO policies are followed.
- Follow laws on restricted beverage and tobacco sales.
- Handle disciplinary actions and employee relations issues.
- Supervise shift coverage and conduct performance reviews.
- Address employee complaints and document issues.
Financial Management:
- Manage expenses, profits, and losses.
- Reconcile accounts and manage sales records and expenses.
- Monitor gas prices and ensure accurate pump readings.
- Maintain stock levels and oversee bank deposits.
Customer Service & Marketing:
- Provide prompt, courteous service and maintain safe conditions.
- Manage sales promotions and merchandising.
- Order products, monitor inventory, and ensure compliance with agreements.
Food Service & Loss Prevention:
- Manage food programs and vendor relationships.
- Implement security measures and control inventory shrinkage.
Safety & Maintenance:
- Conduct safety inspections and maintain equipment.
- Report accidents and ensure a safe environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred; 1+ year retail management or relevant experience required.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S., with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Skills:
- Leadership, customer service, and team development skills.
- Ability to interpret reports and use computer software (Microsoft Office, POS systems).
- Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting and standing for long periods.
