Job summary

Qualifications

• Must read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Able to perform basic math calculations including percentages for pricing and stock control.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Experience with IBM cash register functions to generate reports.
• Strong understanding of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills to lead a team and liaise with staff and customers.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination practices including legal compliance.
• Familiarity with cash, facility and safety control policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees and ensure proper staffing.
• Provide training, conduct performance evaluations, and address gaps or counseling.
• Make recommendations on pay rates and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct, and safety expectations; run meetings.
• Open and close the store reliably each day.
• Monitor sales, profitability, stock levels and shrink; adjust plans weekly.
• Oversee stock replenishment, inventory checks and vendor reviews.
• Ensure presentation, pricing and signage meet company standards.
• Maintain accurate inventory and protect cash and assets.
• Deliver superior customer service leadership and maintain a clean store.
