Job summary

You will oversee customer service, inventory, safety, and employee relations, train staff, manage budgets, and drive performance to meet budgets.

Qualifications

• Retail building materials knowledge and understanding of store operations.
• Experience in supervising staff and ensuring safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform all store and counter functions, including register duties and administrative tasks.
• Lead by example to provide exceptional customer service and train staff.
• Cultivate satisfied customers per operating philosophy and profit objectives.
• Respond promptly to customer complaints and resolve quickly.
• Maintain merchandising, pricing, and seasonal displays per directives.
• Organize personnel to ensure timely deliveries and logistics.
• Motivate contractors and sales staff to grow new business while serving existing customers.
• Drive store sales and profits to exceed budget; monitor financial performance.
• Control costs and schedule payroll consistent with labor productivity goals.
• Ensure inventory is accurate, on-hand, and protected against loss; maintain clean stock areas.
• Promote safety and conduct regular safety meetings; enforce loss prevention methods.
• Recruit, train, and develop store and yard employees; provide coaching and feedback.
