Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Donna, TX to help maintain a clean, customer‑focused store and supervise staff under the Store Manager. You will handle stocking, cashiering, deposits and daily paperwork while protecting assets and maximizing profits.

The role requires a high school diploma, retail experience, and supervisory exposure; you will train employees, manage schedule coverage, and ensure safety and policy compliance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred or equivalent.
• One year of experience in a retail environment.
• Six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and training.
• Follow work processes to manage merchandise including receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and control damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Assist with planograms and ensure merchandise is presented per standards.
• Ensure cashier accountability, cash control and deposits; sign for refunds/overrides.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
