Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Cashier/Stocker to perform front-end duties and assist in leading the store in the manager's absence. You will unload trucks, stock, stock displays, and ensure plan-o-gram accuracy while delivering exceptional customer service.

You will operate the register, handle payments, and help maintain a clean, organized store with a focus on shrink control and safety. This role supports teamwork and store profitability in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and cash handling accurately.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit controls.
• Familiarity with IBM cash register functions.
• Understanding of safety policies and store security practices.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram merchandise layouts.
• Attention to accurate merchandise presentation and display.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and unpack cartons and totes following store procedures.
• Stock, rotate, and face merchandise; build displays; restock returned items.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and zone ordering as needed.
• Greet customers, locate merchandise, and provide superior service.
• Operate cash register, process payments, and make change; bag items.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized store environment at all times.
• In absence of managers, handle refunds, deposits, and cashier accountability.
