Job Title: Huck’s Market Assistant Manager

Job Purpose
The Assistant Manager is responsible for the proper and efficient operation of their shift, within company policy, in such a manner as to ensure that the shift contributes to the increased profitability of the store and to assist the manager in management functions. An Assistant Manager must be willing to accept a promotion and assume the responsibilities of a store manager upon completion of training programs and as an opening is available. (The option to relocate when there is an opening is negotiable.)

Job Duties And Responsibilities
General Management
• Gives all customers prompt and courteous service, including greeting customers via gasoline intercom and adhering to Best In Class standards.
• Observes shift operating hours as assigned by the Store Manager, including helping to fill shifts.
• Works the store manager's days off and at least two evening shifts per week to ensure strong coverage during peak hours.
• Performs specific tasks as assigned by the Store Manager.
• Effectively communicates with store associates and management.
• Follows all applicable laws and ordinances.
• Acts as a role model for conduct.
• Reports sales, cash, or operating discrepancies to the Store Manager.
• Ensures associates are in uniform and providing prompt, courteous service.

Bookkeeping
• Completes shift change reports.
• Records all hours worked accurately.
• Rings all sales as per policies.
• Records over rings and refunds.
• Completes daily paperwork and store deposits.

Human Resources
• Treats all associates with dignity and respect.
• Advises Store Manager of personnel issues.

Security
• Ensures shift procedures are followed.
• Maintains a safe shopping and working environment.
• Handles cash and merchandise securely.
• Follows vendor check-in procedures.

Merchandising
• Keeps stock fully stocked and fronted.
• Maintains cleanliness and readiness of equipment and high-margin products.
• Uses correct pricing.

Maintenance
• Ensures store appearance meets standards.
• Keeps floors, windows, and parking lot clean.
• Ensures restrooms are clean and functional.
• Reports maintenance issues.
• Ensures sanitation in food areas.

Safety
• Follows proper lifting procedures.
• Uses ladders correctly.
• Uses wet floor signs appropriately.
• Reports accidents promptly.

Huck’s Bucks Loyalty App
• Promotes the app to customers.
• Explains benefits and assists with sign-up.
• Monitors for misuse of points or discounts.
