Job Title: Huck’s Market Assistant Manager

Job Purpose
The Assistant Manager is responsible for the proper and efficient operation of their shift, within company policy, in such a manner as to ensure that the shift contributes to the increased profitability of the store and to assist the manager in management functions. An Assistant Manager must be willing to accept a promotion and assume the responsibilities of a store manager upon completion of training programs and as an opening is available. (The option to relocate when there is an opening is negotiable.)

Job Duties And Responsibilities
General Management

• Gives all customers prompt and courteous service, including greeting customers via gasoline intercom and adhering to Best In Class standards.
• Observes shift operating hours as assigned by the Store Manager, including helping to fill shifts.
• Works the store manager's days off and at least two evening shifts per week to ensure coverage during peak hours.
• Performs tasks assigned by the Store Manager.
• Communicates effectively with store associates and management.
• Follows all applicable laws and regulations.
• Serves as a role model for conduct.
• Reports sales, cash, or operating discrepancies to the Store Manager.
• Ensures associates are in proper uniform and providing excellent customer service.

Bookkeeping

• Completes shift change reports and records all hours worked accurately.
• Records all sales, refunds, and over rings properly.
• Prepares daily paperwork and store deposits as directed.

Human Resources

• Treats all associates with dignity and respect, managing personnel appropriately.
• Informs Store Manager of personnel issues or policy violations.

Security

• Follows shift procedures to ensure safety and security of cash and merchandise.
• Maintains a safe shopping and working environment.
• Follows vendor check-in procedures.

Merchandising

• Maintains stock levels and display standards.
• Prepares high-margin products as directed.
• Uses correct pricing for all merchandise.

Maintenance

• Ensures store appearance meets standards.
• Maintains cleanliness and repairs as needed.

Safety

• Follows proper lifting and safety procedures.
• Reports accidents promptly.

• Assists customers with sign-up and usage.
