Goodwill of Greater Detroit is hiring for a full-time store associate responsible for sorting, evaluating, and pricing donated housewares and electronics for the sales floor. The role requires a good eye for quality and offers incentive pay based on sales.
Typical duties include sorting by quality and pricing items for display. The job is performed in a mix of donation, production, and retail settings, with a fast-paced environment.
Our store housewares processors are responsible for sorting, evaluating and pricing all donated housewares and electronics that go to the sales floor of the store. You'll need a good eye for quality. And some knowledge of common housewares and electronics won't hurt! This is an important role in our retail stores and is eligible for healthy incentive pay based on the sales of the housewares that you process.
REQUIRED: Any combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to do the job.

Requires standing and walking and occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, bending, and reaching with hands and arms. Requires frequent lifting and moving of light items, up to 10 pounds, and occasional lifting and moving of items up to 25 pounds. May be required to stand for entire shift.
Requires energetic, team-oriented individual with a positive "can-do" attitude and an ability to understand, accept and work with people who have disabilities and/or other barriers to employment.

Must have excellent interpersonal skills and values that reflect the organization’s mission and values. Maintain professional standards of performance, demeanor, and appearance at all times. Must be 16 years of age or older. Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, extended hours and holidays. Must pass a background check.
