Job summary

Target is seeking a Lead within the Store Experience Team in Minneapolis, MN to shape in-store experiences across signage and product merchandising. You will craft briefs that translate consumer and business inputs into actionable deliverables for the team and partners.

You will oversee both high-level and detailed creative development, ensuring presentations meet strategic objectives. Expect collaboration with merchants and global partners to drive guest-focused solutions.

Qualifications

  • Four-year degree in Visual Merchandising, Marketing, Design or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years relevant experience
  • Visual Merchandising expertise required; In-Store Marketing, CPG and/or Creative Agency experience desired
  • Proven experience translating business strategy to experience strategy, synthesizing data and insights, and authoring successful creative briefs

Responsibilities

  • Develop briefs that synthesize consumer, guest and business inputs; inspire through relevant and focused swipe; and articulate clear, actionable deliverables for your team & partners.
  • Oversee the high level and detailed creative development process of the visual merchandising and signing to ensure that presentations meet strategic & creative objectives.
  • Prepare leader alignment reviews which could include physical build out in our mock store or via digital presentations.
  • Lead Tier 1 projects, specific to your division that fall outside of a cycle.
  • Partner with merchant divisional leaders on the product stories and buys grounded in data.

The pay range is $95,000.00 - $171,000.00

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications. As a Lead within our Store Experience Team you are responsible for holistic in-store experience strategies, inclusive of signage and product merchandising to drive the business for all cycles. You will develop briefs that synthesize consumer, guest and business inputs; inspire through relevant and focused swipe; and that articulate clear, actionable deliverables for your team & partners. You will oversee the high level and detailed creative development process of the visual merchandising and signing to ensure that presentations meet strategic & creative objectives. You will be responsible for preparing leader alignment reviews which could include physical build out in our mock store or via digital presentations. You will also lead Tier 1 projects, specific to your division that fall outside of a cycle.

You will play a key role in the division roundtable as you demonstrate possibilities within the experience and influence division strategy, grounded in the storewide Strategic Framework. You will play a key role, partnering with merchant divisional leaders on the product stories and buys grounded in data and the ability to tell clear stories across the floor.

You will create & maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders both inside and outside the company and be the trusted expert to leaders on your business. You will build and oversee a marketing budget for your business and drive for process and cost efficiencies. Core responsibilities of this job are described within this job description. About You
  • Four-year degree in Visual Merchandising, Marketing, Design or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years relevant experience
  • Visual Merchandising expertise required; In-Store Marketing, CPG and/or Creative Agency experience desired
  • Proven experience translating business strategy to experience strategy, synthesizing data and insights, and authoring successful creative briefs
  • Strong sense of composition and design detail; Experienced in rendering with strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Sketchup
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to tailor content and communication to a senior-level audience
  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills, with ability to navigate complexity amidst ambiguity
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully navigate and lead cross-functional teams internal and external to Target, including global partners, while advocating for guest-focused solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Cloud.

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
