What is a Store Driver?

An entry-level store position responsible for delivering parts to commercial customers, supporting inventory and task processes in the store. The role can be part-time or full-time and requires fleet safety certification.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Safely deliver parts to customers as needed
2. Pick and stage parts for customer orders
3. Pick up returns and cores
4. Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers
5. Collect credit accounts daily

Secondary Responsibilities

• Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot
• Stocking, including truck and back stock

Success Factors

• Basic driving and navigation skills
• Ability to use delivery system software
• Friendly communication skills
• Ability to locate and stock parts efficiently
• Knowledge of safety procedures
• Operating inventory systems and store equipment

Essential Job Skills

• Effective communication and relationship-building with customers, peers, and management
• Reading and interpreting safety rules, manuals, parts catalogs, and procedures
• Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division with various units
• Flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends as needed

Preferred Experience

Automotive parts experience is preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, and Certifications

Must have a valid driver's license and be fleet safety certified.

Physical Demands

Must be able to walk, stand, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers. Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Visual abilities required include close, distance, color, and depth perception.

Work Environment

Primarily indoors, with occasional outdoor tasks in various weather conditions. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, electrical hazards, and noise levels are possible.
