Job Description

What is a Store Driver?

An entry-level store position responsible for supporting the delivery of parts to commercial customers. The role involves delivering parts, assisting with tasks and inventory processes in the store. This position can be part-time or full-time and requires fleet safety certification.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Safely deliver parts to customers as needed
2. Pick and stage parts for customer orders
3. Pick up returns and cores
4. Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers
5. Collect credit accounts daily

Secondary Responsibilities

1. Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot
2. Stocking including truck stocking and back stock

Success Factors

1. Basic driving and navigation skills
2. Ability to use delivery board system
3. Friendly communication skills
4. Ability to locate and stock parts
5. Knowledge of safety procedures
6. Operating inventory systems and store equipment

Essential Job Skills

1. Effective communication and relationship-building
2. Ability to interpret safety rules, manuals, parts catalogs, procedures
3. Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
4. Availability to work days, evenings, weekends as needed

Prior Experience

Automotive parts experience is preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must have a valid driver’s license and fleet safety certification.

Physical Demands

Requires walking, standing, talking, hearing, using hands, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Must frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds. Vision abilities required include close, distance, color, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment

Primarily indoor work, with occasional outdoor tasks exposed to weather, moving mechanical parts, chemicals, electrical hazards, and noise. Moderate noise level typical.
