Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 3 years Store Manager in multi-department retail or 5+ years in retail/management as Assistant Manager.
• Retail grocery experience required.
• Strong leadership, planning, analytic and communication abilities.
• Proven customer service and supervisory capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operation of a retail grocery store.
• Make store-level decisions on hiring, training, discipline and scheduling.
• Monitor store performance, cash handling, inventory and security.
• Forecast and achieve weekly/daily sales goals and labor budgets.
• Direct execution of product placement, promotions and appearance.
• Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and legal requirements.
• Handle customer and employee complaints; resolve issues for customers and business.
• Hire, train and evaluate store staff; decisions on probation and termination.
• Maintain union relations where applicable and comply with bargaining agreements.
• Motivate staff and model positive attitudes; staff effectively to meet labor and sales goals.
