Position Summary

The Store Director is responsible for the overall operation, profitability, and leadership of the store. This position ensures exceptional customer service, drives sales and financial performance, develops and leads store associates, and maintains compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The Store Director provides strategic direction for the store while fostering a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and associate development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership & Customer Experience

• Leads all aspects of store operations and customer service initiatives.
• Promotes a culture of customer engagement and personalized service.
• Resolves customer concerns and ensures positive customer experiences.
• Communicates company goals, priorities, policies, and expectations to all department leaders and associates.
• Conduces regular meetings with department managers to review sales plans, promotions, and operational initiatives.
• Develops and maintains positive relationships with customers, vendors, and community partners.
• Monitors market conditions, competitor activities, and industry trends to drive store performance.

Financial & Business Management

• Maintains full profit and loss accountability for the store.
• Develops and manages store operating budgets.
• Drives sales growth, gross profit performance, labor productivity, and expense control.
• Oversees inventory management, shrink reduction, merchandising execution, and product availability.
• Ensures accurate reporting, auditing, and financial controls.
• Protects company assets through strong operational and cash-handling controls.
• Reviews business metrics and implements corrective action plans as needed to achieve objectives.

Talent Management

• Leads recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and development of store associates.
• Builds a high-performing leadership team and succession pipeline.
• Conducts performance evaluations and addresses performance concerns appropriately.
• Makes personnel decisions, including promotions, disciplinary actions, and terminations in accordance with company policy.
• Ensures compliance with employment laws, wage and hour regulations, scheduling requirements, and company standards.
• Fosters a workplace culture built on respect, inclusion, accountability, and associate engagement.

Operations & Compliance

• Ensures compliance with food safety, sanitation, health and safety regulations.
• Maintains store conditions, product quality standards, code dating, signage accuracy, and merchandising standards.
• Oversees scheduling and labor management to ensure effective staffing and service levels.
• Implements company programs, promotions, and operational initiatives.
• Conducts routine inspections to ensure compliance, safety, and operational excellence.
• Manages emergency response procedures for equipment failures, safety incidents, and other operational disruptions.
• Maintains accurate business records and safeguards confidential information.
