Job description

This position is essential to the success of our retail stores. Customer Service Specialists work closely with wholesale and retail customers to determine their needs, answer questions about Sherwin-Williams products, and recommend suitable solutions. They are expected to resolve customer concerns promptly, ensure maximum satisfaction, stay updated on product features, and maintain high standards of product quality and store appearance. Customer Service Specialists aim to deliver excellent service while meeting sales goals.

Job duties involve contact with customers, including minors, and access to cash, electronic equipment, personal information, merchandise, and other valuables. Access may be supervised or unsupervised. The company conducts criminal background reviews to protect its operations, reputation, and the safety of customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the public.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Legally authorized to work without sponsorship now or in the future
  • Valid, unrestricted Driver’s License
  • Ability to retrieve materials from shelves and lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and 70 lbs. occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Willingness to work scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • At least one year of experience in delivery, retail, or customer service
  • Experience selling paint and related products
  • Experience operating tinting and mixing equipment
  • Ability to communicate in more than one language, including Spanish

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
  • Assist customers in person and over the phone by identifying needs and presenting appropriate products and services
  • Build trustful relationships with wholesale and retail customers
  • Process sales transactions accurately following policies and procedures
  • Achieve sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis
  • Maintain accurate work order files and formulas
  • Pull products from the sales floor or warehouse
  • Tint and mix products as per customer specifications
  • Stock shelves and set up displays
  • Clean store equipment
  • Load and unload delivery trucks
  • Assist with deliveries when needed
  • Keep assigned areas in-stock and presentable
  • Stay knowledgeable about products and discuss options with customers
  • Follow inventory control procedures
  • Suggest sales improvement strategies
