Job description

This position is essential to the success of our retail stores. Customer Service Specialists work closely with wholesale and retail customers to determine their needs, answer questions about Sherwin-Williams products, and recommend solutions. They are also expected to promptly resolve customer concerns, ensure maximum client satisfaction, stay updated on product features, and maintain high-quality visual standards of the products and store. Customer Service Specialists aim to provide excellent customer service while meeting the store’s sales goals.

Job duties involve contact with customers, which may include minors; and access to cash, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise, and other items of value. Access may be supervised or unsupervised. The company reviews criminal history to protect its operations, reputation, and safety of customers, staff, vendors, contractors, and the public. The successful candidate will work at stores within a 10-mile radius of Store #5484, located at 125 West 21st Street, New York, NY 10011.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Legally authorized to work in the country without sponsorship now or in the future
  • Valid, unrestricted Driver’s License
  • Ability to retrieve materials from shelves and lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and 70 lbs. occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Willing to work scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of experience in delivery, retail, or customer service
  • Experience selling paint and related products
  • Experience operating tinting and mixing equipment
  • Ability to communicate in more than one language, including Spanish

Sales Responsibilities:

  • Ensure high customer satisfaction through excellent service
  • Assist customers in person and over the phone by determining needs and presenting products
  • Build trust with wholesale and retail customers
  • Process sales transactions accurately
  • Achieve sales goals monthly, quarterly, and annually
  • Maintain work order files and formulas
  • Pull products from sales floor or warehouse
  • Tint and mix products as per customer specifications
  • Stock shelves and set up displays
  • Clean store equipment
  • Load/unload delivery trucks and assist with deliveries
  • Maintain stock and presentation of assigned areas
  • Stay knowledgeable about products and discuss options with customers
  • Follow inventory control procedures
  • Suggest ways to improve sales
