Job description

We are more than just a Parts Store and are looking for talented individuals to join our NAPA family! As a Counter Sales Associate, you will be the "face of the retail store" and the go-to person for customers seeking automotive parts and advice. You don’t need to be able to tear down and rebuild engines (though that’s a plus), but a background in automotive parts is essential. This role offers a great opportunity whether you want to build a career as a Parts Specialist, work full- or part-time, or explore other career paths within our company.

What you will do:

  1. Assist retail and wholesale customers with auto parts questions in person and over the phone.
  2. Use your automotive knowledge to support team members and customers.
  3. Provide outstanding customer service and create positive experiences for all visitors.
  4. Bring energy and customer focus to our fast-paced stores.
  5. Engage with customers to ensure a positive shopping experience.
  6. Utilize technology such as computers, cash registers, and catalog systems.

This opportunity is ideal if you:

  1. Enjoy helping customers with their automotive needs.
  2. Have gained experience in the automotive industry or through personal tinkering and repairs.
  3. Are willing to learn about automotive parts if you lack experience.
  4. Seek a team environment with opportunities for growth and development.

Requirements:

  1. Valid Driver’s License
  2. Experience in a parts store or automotive industry, or willingness to learn.
  3. High School Diploma or GED; technical or trade school is a plus.
  4. Excellent communication skills.
  5. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.
  6. Good listening skills and empathy for customers.

Additional preferred qualifications:

  1. Passion or background in automotive, heavy equipment, farm, diesel, marine, or dealership.
  2. Experience with cataloging and inventory management systems.
  3. Customer-centric attitude.
  4. ASE Certifications (a plus).
