Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Central Florida in Port Orange, FL, seeks an Entry Level Part Time Retail Associate. Under the direction of the General Manager, place processed donations on the sales floor, sort and label hangers by type, and assist donors and customers.

Responsibilities include receiving donations, rotating stock, merchandising textiles, greeting customers, and maintaining cleanliness. High School education preferred; prior retail experience advantageous; ability to lift up to 40 pounds

Qualifications

• Ability to greet and assist donors/customers with a courteous, professional attitude.
• Respond to emergencies calmly and follow safety procedures.
• Willingness to learn textile classifications and merchandising policies.

Responsibilities

• Receive donations and issue receipts.
• Rotate stock and bring stock to sales floor.
• Merchandise textiles on racks and shelves per policy.
• Sort, box, and label hangers by type.
• Assist in color rotation of textiles.
• Greet customers and provide prompt service.
• Direct customers and provide information as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety on floor and production areas.
• Follow loss prevention procedures.

Job Details: Level: Entry, Job Location: Port Orange 5254 - Port Orange, FL, Position Type: Part Time, Education Level: High School, Salary Range: $18.00 - $18.00Hourly, Travel Percentage: None, Job Shift: Any, Job Category: Retail, Under the direction of the General Manager, place processed donations in proper area on sales floor, sort, box and label hangers by type. Major duties include maintaining cleanliness of sales floor, receiving incoming donations and issuing receipts, greet and assist donors/customers.

Essential Functions/Duties

1. 1. Politely and professionally receive donations from donors and issue donation receipts for articles donated.
2. 2. Rotate stock on a timely basis and in accordance with established procedures; bring stock to sales floor in a timely manner.
3. 3. Place and present all merchandise on appropriate textile racks and wares shelves in accordance with merchandising policies and procedures.
4. 4. Sort, box and label hangers by type.
5. 5. Assist in textile color rotation per established procedure.
6. 6. Greet each customer with a courteous, friendly and professional attitude; provide prompt, efficient, and accurate customer service at all times.
7. 7. Direct customers to proper area and provide general information as requested.
8. 8. Stay alert and watch for shoplifting; notify store management on suspicious activity.
9. 9. Keep sales floor and production area clean and safe.
10. 10. Maintain well groomed appearance and appropriate dress code including name badge and vest.

Additional Functions/Duties

1. 1. Refer all customer complaints to management in a timely manner.
2. 2. Answer telephone promptly using established etiquette procedure.
3. 3. Follow Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) procedures and other Public Protection Guidelines.
4. 4. React calmly and respond to emergency situations.
5. 5. Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.

Education and/or Experience

High School education or equivalent is preferred. Previous retail experience is highly preferred.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have beginner knowledge of the Internet and the ability look up information.
