Job description

Summary/ Role :To operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize and total customers’ purchases, receive payment, and assist in bagging purchases for customers.

• Handling cash, credit, or check transactions with customers
• Scanning goods and collecting payments
• Ensuring pricing is correct
• Issuing change, receipts, refunds, or tickets
• Redeeming stamps and coupons
• Counting money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts
• Making sales referrals and cross-selling products
• Accurately processing sales using cash registers, scanners, or equipment
• Accepting cash, checks, and bank cards for payment
• Keeping counters and customer areas clean
• Occasional mopping
• Stocking of cooler and shelves after deliveries
• Greet customers when entering or leaving establishment
• Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas
• Keep reports of transactions
• Answer customers' questions and get a manager if answer doesn't solve the issue
• Bag, box, or wrap packages
• Provide excellent customer service to ensure satisfaction
• Other duties as assigned.
• Basic math skills: The cashier must have a fair knowledge of basic calculations
