Job summary

The Salvation Army store in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a Full Time Regular Store Associate to assist customers, stock and display items, rotate stock, and manage donation receipts. Routine security tasks are part of the role and you may help move donations to storage areas.

You will also perform cleaning duties, respond to phone inquiries, and ensure a welcoming shopping environment at ARC-Hampton Roads Store 1. Prior retail experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail store preferred.
• Ability to stock, display, and rotate merchandise.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist store customers in selecting and purchasing items.

Assists store customers in selecting and purchasing items. Stock, arrange, and display furniture, bric-a-brac, books, clothes, and other similar products; rotate and/or rearrange stock as needed; return items to the proper location. Perform routine security activities while observing customers shopping in the store. May assist with moving donations to the storage area; prepare and provide donation receipts.

Perform various cleaning activities, including but not limited to clean display racks, shelves, windows, mirrors, storage area; sweep and mop floors; clean other areas as needed. Answer the store telephone in a tactful and courteous manner.

QualificationsEducation and Experience

High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred and experience working in a retail store preferred or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
