Job summary

Kinney Bridgeport, CT is seeking a cashier to ring up customer purchases, process cash, checks, and charges, and provide friendly service at the register. You’ll maintain a clean checkout area, assist with large purchases, restock, and help with basic merchandising and inventory tasks.

The role requires punctuality, reliability, and completing mandatory training. Preferred experience is 0-1 years in a related position.

Responsibilities

• Accurately scan and ring out all customer purchases using POS register.
• Provide correct change to customers.
• Close out register at end of shift following procedures.
• Assist customers with large purchases and help carry items to their cars.
• Replenish inventory from in-store stock and upcoming orders.
• Maintain clean, professional checkout area; restrooms and break rooms.
• Answer phones with proper greeting and maintain service levels.
• Assist in inventory management, pricing, and merchandising of checkout area.
• Respond to potential shoplifters per policy.
• Assist in Kinney Standard of Presentation merchandising.
• Order replacement product from suppliers.
• Identify and return outdated or overstock merchandise.
• Package items for home/business delivery.
• Complete mandatory trainings; perform other duties as assigned.
• Attendance: must be on time for scheduled shifts.
